(8/14/16) Wordsmiths & Readers of Tarrant

The theme of this month’s meeting was to talk about writers whom we looked up to and that have influenced us in a profound way.
I few of the writers that were brought up were some of the greats in writing history—Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Frost, Dickinson.
Others were local artist—Travis Blair.
A few were personal acquaintances of ours—Caleb Cook.  And, there were a few artist mentioned, like Nas, whom most wouldn’t even consider as a legendary wordsmith.
Allison Fowler and I were able to share, with each other, artist we might not have ever discovered on our own.  In doing so, through those artists, we are able to learn a different perspective, delivery, culture, and vocabulary—all elements that help improve the methods of our communication as writers.
Thank you, Allison, for helping make this evening successful!
To all who could not make it, please free to free join us at our “Wordsmiths & Readers of “Tarrant Meetings,” any first Saturday of the month, at Brewed in Fort Worth. We look forward to seeing you there!
