There is NOTHING "radical," "revolutionary," or "extremist" about the truth. The truth is simply just that…the truth. There's nothing "fundamentalist," "#hotep," "#woke," "un-American" or "terroristic" about it. In this edition of the Poethnic Justice Podcast, I break down how terms like these are created and weaponized against those who put in #grassroots work to create profound and substantive change in society for the better.
These terms get used for the purposes of dismissing people as cuckoos and conspiracy theorists and to outright criminalize them for addressing and challenging systemic racism. It's time for us to reject and condemn these stereotypes and call them for what they are–attempts by the cowardly to silence those demanding justice and equity.
