Your Responsibility as a Writer

As a writer, I believe that, as the old saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility.  POWER and RESPONSIBILITY have always come hand-in-hand.  There’s no way around it.  Imagine trying to have fire without heat.  That just doesn’t happen, right?

So, therefore, as a writer, you’ve been blessed with the gift of influence, no matter how big or small it is.  My question is: What are you going to do with that influence, Writer.

How are you going to wield that talent and utilize it for good?

Will you use it to empower and enlighten the people?

Will you use it to spread ignorance, bias, conflict, or hostility?

We, as writers, must decide what our true motives for creating what we create are and what the impact of what we create is. And, NO, our job is not just to write for entertainment.

Why do you write?!

From the Soul,
